Notes: Equal parts of the three grapes, macerated for about 7 days outside the cellar, then aged in foudres before blending. JM doesn’t usually include Auxerrois, but he had a barrel that tasted distinctly of Pinot-y so he decided to include it here. Light in colour, this is bloody and savoury on the palate with some warm spiced fruit at the finish.

Rosheim - Alsace
Jean-Marc was the last wine maker we visited on a little tour of the Alsace a couple of years ago. He had cropped up in conversation repeatedly (over choucroutes and thick breadcrumbed pork chops) and as we were driving right past it seemed silly not to stop. Rosheim is a walled village a little south of Strasbourg and Jean-Marc lives just outside the fortifications.
