Cà De Noci
Quattro Castella - Emilia Romagna
Brothers Alberto and Giovanni started making wine on their family estate in 1993. Their father planted vines amongst his walnut trees in the 70s, when they took over the farm they converted to organic practices and focused on autochthonous grape varieties – Spergola, Malbo Gentile, Sgavetta and Montericco. Along with the work in the vineyard they began to experiment with making wine as naturally as possible. Now they work 5 hectares of vines and make nocino, saba and fantastic Balsamic vinegar.

Grapes: Moscato, Malvasia Aromatica, Spergola
Style: Orange
Alc.: 11.5%

Notes: A very welcome return of this wine for us. The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 20 days, and then aged on the lees in old acacia barrels. On the nose you can feel the aromatic varieties, reminiscent of elderflowers and a bit of jasmine. The palate has a pithy bite from the maceration, with a lovely lick of acidity for balance.

Grapes: Lambrusco Grasparossa, Lambrusco di Montericco, Malbo Gentile
Style: Red, Sparkling
Alc.: 11.5%

Notes: This is a rather special Lambrusco, made with indigenous grapes. Bigger than the previous few vintages. The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 12 days, this is more reminiscent of Lambruscos from the hills around Modena. Deep rustic tannins, ripe and savoury fruit, with a touch of acidity. This is one for the table.
