Paolo Ferri – Case Vecchie
Monzambano - Lombardia
Paolo Ferri farms a few hectares in the Morenic hills just south of Lake Garda in Lombardia. He and his sister took over the farm from their father who planted vines about 40 years ago, and now make wine along with honey, olive oil, and grains; a true azienda agricola. We tasted the wines last spring, and after a visit, are so happy to have them on the shelves. All three are in one litre bottles, which may seem daunting, but they go down far too easily.
Producer: Case Vecchie – Paolo Ferri

Notes: An 8-day maceration of Paolo’s cabernet, aged in stainless steel tanks. The fruit come from 24 year-old vines growing on limestone-clay soils near Lake Garda. Lovely crunchy fruit, fine tannin, and subtle edge of pepper. This is lovely chilled, and perfect with meats from the grill!
