Henri Chauvet, Froussard 2022

£47.50

Producer: Henri Chauvet
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Chardonnay
Style: White
Alc.: 12%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a plot rich with granite and iron oxide clay. The grapes are pressed direct, then aged on the lees for 9 months in a mix of barrels: half in a new 500lt barrel; half in old 228lt barrels. This is quite classic on the nose, and upon first taste it is fresh and mineral, with a touch of richness from the newer barrel. After some time open and in the glass the fruit develops and this begins to feel really opulent.
