Notes: Fred and Caroline’s heady and aromatic orange wine. Whole bunches of Pinot Gris macerated for about a month in the juice of the Sauvignon blanc. This is then aged in 1000lt stoneware vessels for 2 years. Lighter than previous vintages, this has supple fruit and some pithy tannins.

Fred Gounan – Saint-Sandoux – Auvergne
The Gounan family has been in Saint Sandoux for generations. Fred’s father had apple orchards as many people in the area once did. Sadly these orchards have now been replaced with the ubiquitous wheat and so have most of the vineyards.
