Notes: This cuvée is named after the Hacquet siblings who were making wine in Anjou without additions since the 1950s. From a plot planted on schiste in both 1990 and 2014, the grapes are pressed directly and aged in tanks and some underground concrete tanks. This has a lovely balance of mineral zip and some classic Chenin richness.

Babass is something of a legend in the natural wine world. He was formerly part of Domaine des Griottes and has now decided to go it alone with his 2.4 hectares of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Chenin Blanc. His wines sum up natural wine for a lot of people – wild but pure and compellingly drinkable.
