Notes: This is from the plot in Chateaugay that drew Mattia to the Auvergne, 100 year old vines planted on basalt. The grapes are macerated in whole bunches for 2 weeks, and then aged in old barrels. We were struck when we tasted this of just how classically Auvergnat it tasted: notes of smoke, blood, and a piercing minerality. A lovely wine.
