Belly Wine Experiment, Tchiki Tchiki 2022

£34.00

Producer: Belly Wine Experiment
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc (Demarne, Minervois)
Style: Orange
Alc: 13.8%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: An intriguing ripasso of southern sauvignon blanc! 60% of the fruit is macerated for 10 days, and the rest is pressed directly. This then ages for 10 months in barrels, before it is poured over the marc of xarel·lo to age for an extra year in fibreglass tanks. Plush, and plump this tastes so much of sunshine and tropical fruit – one to savour slowly.

Chanteuges – Auvergne

Claire Sage, Guy Enoch, and Aimé Duveau make wine in a small village on the Allier river, and while they haven’t been doing it long we are very excited by the results. Claire and Aimé are both connected to wine through family: Claire’s brother is an importer of Catalan wines to Paris (which explains the prevalence of Xarello in their wines); Aimé’s father is Manu Duveau of Yahou Fatal, where they harvest the majority of their Auvergnat grapes. The winemaking is intuitive and, as the name would suggest, experimental.
