Notes: This is from a plot in the Hérault that Mattia and Chiara bought a few years ago to help supplement their grape production. All the grapes are macerated together for a month with daily (sometimes twice daily) pigeages. This is a big, punchy orange wine, with lovely aromatics, dense tannins, and opens up wonderfully. Mattia summed it up very well: "Un vin très complexe, pas à boire tous les jours mais avec un caractère unique, réglisse et pêche confite enrobé de tanins à boire avec une côte de cochon ou avec des fromages ou bien tout seul après un grand repas devant la cheminée."

Mattia Carfagna used to make wine with his father on the island of Giglio, which is how we met him. He moved to the Auvergne in 2018 and began making wine from a vineyard he rented from Manu and Catherine of L’Egrappille.
