Notes: Riesling from the Baumbergers’ low-yield vines on red sandstone and yellow sandy soils. Pressed directly, then moved to old barrels to fermente and age. This leans into riesling’s more savoury side – slightly smoky and resin-like notes, with an electric lime-y acidity on the finish. There’s a decent amount of spritz to this too, which makes it wonderfully easy-drinking.

Pauline and her younger brother Carl are the sixth generation to be making wine at Weingut Baumberger. Since 1855 their family has been farming the varied soils of the Nahe, and the farm has now grown to 15 hectares. Carl has always known he would end up making wine, and after studying viticulture and winemaking he returned to help the family business. But it was when Pauline returned home that she had the idea to create Glow Glow–a chance to experiment, be creative, and most important make delicious wines–and Carl eagerly joined her.
