Hors les Murs, Après la pluie 2023
£30.00

Producer: Château Lestignac
Region: Perigord, France
Grapes: Semillon, Sauvignon Gris, Petit Manseng, Chenin
Style: White / Sweet
Alc.: 14.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A really fascinating wine. Mainly made up of dried and botrytised Semillon, with some macerated Sauvignon gris and Petit manseng. After fermentation it was blended with a small amount of Chenin blanc vinified oxidatively from 2022. The result is semi-sweet, with some lip smacking acidity and a salty, nutty finish.

“A wonderful transition wine as you move from cheese on to puddings – gently off-dry, lick of acidity, and so drinkable.”

Ellen

“Appropriately named and perfect for a party!” 🎉

Carmen

Loco, Anfora 2022
£43.00

Producer: Loco
Region: Puglia, Italy
Grapes: Primitivo
Style: Red
Alc.: 13%
Size: 75cl
Notes: An amphora-aged Primitivo bursting with dark rich fruit notes and a gentle sundried raisin-y edge on the finish. The fruit is destemmed with little pigeage. This has an almost classic Primitivo profile. One to have with a rich seafood-fish stew, or with Apulian tiella!

“A wine that is good fun for all the family – deep, dense fruit, beautiful earthy minerality, and a gust of salty sea air.”

Davide Spillare, L1 2022

Producer: Davide Spillare
Region: Veneto, Italy
Grapes: 90% Garganega, 10% Durella
Style: White, Sparkling
Size: 75cl bottle
Alc: 11.5%
Notes: A light, crisp and crowd-pleasing fizz from younger vines of Garganega planted by Davide, refermented with must from the same vines. This is a touch deeper and rounder than previous vintages.

A great crowd-pleaser and all around tasty number. Fruity and herbal, with lovely bubbles.

£32.00

Producer: Cà de Noci
Region: Emilia Romagna, Italy

Notes: The lovely new iteration of this classic bottle from the Masini brothers. Bright acidity, pithy tannin, and a gentle stone fruit-like finish. Quenching, and perfect for guzzling in the heat!

A light maceration of Spergola from Emilia Romagna. Maybe one for the table as it comes into its own with food.

A great all-rounder. Fresh and fun with a salty leanness to balance the fruit.

Alanna and Martin’s version of sekt. 100% Pinot Noir, this is opulent and toasty.

Calvez Bobinet, Du Rififi à Beaulieu 2023
£31.00

Producer: Calvez Bobinet
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: Chenin Blanc
Style: White, Sparkling
Alc.: 11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A classic cuvée from Seb and Émeline – an incredible, refined take on a pet nat. This is lighter and fresher then previous years, with salt, acidity, and fine toasty finish from barrel aging.

Some classic brioche-y notes, with plenty of fruit.

Vin de LaGamba, Cuvée Royale 2019
£49.00

Producer: Vin de Lagamba
Region: Rheinhessen, Germany
Grapes: Pinot Blanc, Riesling
Style: White, Sparking
Size: 75cl bottle
Alc.: 11%
Notes: Alanna’s take on an aged sekt, this is wonderfully complex and satisfying. Long ageing on the lees has given this intense savoury notes, balanced by zippy acidity.

Another of Alanna’s takes on a traditional sekt. This is equal parts fresh and full fruited.

Warm and toasty, with dense bubbles. When Anto was in town recently this went down a treat!

Calvez Bobinet, Le Temps est Bon 2023

£22.00

Producer: Simon Busser
Region: Cahors, France
Grapes: Sauvignon blanc
Style: White
Alc.: 11.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Jasmine-like nose, lovely minerality and richness on the finish. The aromatics and richness soften and integrate as it opens up, yielding a wine with great balance.

A beautiful white from Simon. Sauvignon blanc and Viognier from Cahors.

Rich and verging on opulent from old vines of Chenin Blanc. Zippy acidity to balance.

Les Bariolés, Les Suquets 2024
£45.00

Producer: Les Bariolés – Claire Freist & Edoardo Veltroni
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Chardonnay
Style: White
Alc: 11.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a south-facing plot planted in 1996 at about 500m on limestone, shale and marl. Slow direct pressing, followed by ageing in old fûts. In spite of the south-facing plot this is incredibly light on its feet, with a crystalline minerality that keeps you coming back for more. After a bit of time opening up there is some lovely delicate white peach and some nutty depth.

Chardonnay from an old plot of vines. Aged in barrel which gives it a classic edge.

This has been a firm favourite with us since we tasted it with Matthias in May. Heady fruit and salty minerality.

Marie et Vincent Tricot, Escargot 2023
£35.00

Producer: Marie & Vincent Tricot
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Chardonnay
Style: White
Alc: 13%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A return of one of our favourites from the Tricots! A direct pressed chardonnay from 26 year-old vines on a southfacing plot. The wine is aged in a mix of barrels and stoneware jars before bottling. Richness from the barrels, earthy minerality from the jars, and hints of lemon meringue! This opens up beautifully.

The Tricot’s older vine Chardonnay; dense and rich fruit, with some classic Auvergnat smoke.

Warmed by the Mediterranean sun, but freshened by the salt sea breeze.

La Vigne Sauvage, La Sauvageonne 2022
£35.00

Producer: La Vigne Sauvage, David Humbert
Region: Haute Savoie, France
Grapes: Chasselas
Style: White
Size: 75cl bottle
Alc.: 11%
Notes: From David’s older vines in Marignan – the fruit is pressed directly, and the wine is racked 2 months before bottling. This is a lovely take on alpine chasselas: bright and lean with chalky minerality, and in this vintage, a long, complex, and soft finish.

Electric, zippy Chasselas from the banks of Lac Léman. Delicious!

Grégoire and Judicaëlle Perron - La Combe aux Rêves, Terremere 2023
£30.00

Producer: Grégoire & Judicaëlle Perron
Region: Bugey, France
Grapes: Chardonnay, Aligoté, Savagnin, Jacquère
Style: Red
Alc: 12%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From Grég and Judi’s own vines – a blend of 4 typical alpine varieties, direct pressed and aged in large stoneware vessels. A wine of wonderful complexity; notes of white stone fruit, salinity, chalky minerality, and a subtle stalky green edge.

Zingy Alpine brightness, with some richer stone fruit at the finish.

Klinec, Jakot 2019
£46.00

Producer: Klinec
Region: Brda, Slovenia
Grapes: Tokaj Friuliano
Style: Orange
Alc: 13%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Aleks’ classic recipe for vinifying his tokaj: 4-days on skins, frequent pigeage, and then 36 months in acacia barrels. This is a touch darker and more brooding than the 2018, and is a more distinctly mineral take on Slovenian tokaj. Smoke and salt, and bright apricot-like acidity on the finish.

A delightful map for the strong flavours of your festive feast. Saline and aromatic, but with a strong structured core.

Jean-Christophe Garnier, 13 Vents 2023
£33.50

Producer: Jean-Christophe Garnier
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: Chenin Blanc
Style: White
Alc:
11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a new plot (about 40 years old) St Aubin de Luigné. Slow pressing and aged on the lees in old barrels. Brimming with opulent fruit and warm toasty almond notes. Like all the 2023s this has a salty mineral edge that brings freshness and ease.

Chenin blanc from Anjou; crystalline energy, decadent fruit.

Glow Glow, Alte Reben Riesling 2023
£38.00

Producer: Glow Glow
Region: Nahe, Germany
Grapes: Riesling
Style: White
Alc.: 12%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A continuation of Pauline and Carl’s project to age wines from their older riesling vines of 42–44 years growing on red standstone. Noble reduction on the nose, with hints of butterscotch; an electric zip on the palate, and a complex, toasty finish – an incredible expression of riesling from Nahe!

From one of the Baumberger family’s prized plots of Riesling. A classic.

Cà de Noci, Notte di Luna 2022
£37.00

Producer: Cà de Noci
Region: Emilia Romagna, Italy
Grapes: Moscato, Malvasia Aromatica, Spergola
Style: Orange
Alc.: 11.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A very welcome return of this wine for us. The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 20 days, and then aged on the lees in old acacia barrels. On the nose you can feel the aromatic varieties, reminiscent of elderflowers and a bit of jasmine. The palate has a pithy bite from the maceration, with a lovely lick of acidity for balance.

Our “gateway” orange wine. Aromatic, pithy, enchanting.

Reds for the big day

Les Bariolés, Les Chirouzes 2022
£45.00

Producer: Les Bariolés – Claire Freist & Edoardo Veltroni
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Style: Red
Alc: 11.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a plot planted in 2000 at about 550m above sea-level. The grapes are macerated in whole bunches for about 2 weeks, and then aged on the lees in old barrels for a year. There’s a touch more tannin here than in La Boudeuse their other Pinot, making it more bloody and savoury. The time in barrel doesn’t dominate, and this would age very well indeed.

Pitch perfect Pinot. Auvergnat at heart, but with a Burgundian lilt.

Henri Chauvet, Vie Ordinaire 2023
£55.00

Producer: Henri Chauvet
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Style: Red
Alc.: 13%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From two plots: one large plot on the hillside which has volcanic soil, and a smaller parcel which is a mix of volcanic soil with blue marl. 10 to 12-day wholebunch maceration in stainless steel. Elevage is 12 months; 50% in a relatively new 500L Alsatian foudre, and 50% aged in old 228L barrels. This has some of that classic Pinot spice and more savoury notes, with soft tannins and some light fruit. This has great potential to age.

Dense and smoky Pinot Noir from Boudes in the Auvergne.

Marie et Vincent Tricot, Le Petit Rouge de la Côte Ouest 2023
£35.00

Producer: Marie & Vincent Tricot
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Gamay d’Auvergne
Style: Red
Alc: 13%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a small plot of old gamay d’Auvergne vines planted between 1964-72. 80% is destemmed, and the fruit is macerated for 17 days. The wine is aged in a mix of stoneware jars, barrels, and foudre for 11 months. This is the weightier and more brooding companion to the lithe and fruit-forward Petites Fleur – dark fruit, dense inky tannin, with that classic Auvergnat smokiness on the finish.

A welcome return of this old vine Gamay d’Auvergne. Dense fruit, salt, smoke.

Klinec, Quela 2017
£46.00

Producer: Klinec
Region: Brda, Slovenia
Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon
Style: Red
Alc.: 14%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: One of the more full and rich wines we have. That being said this is very drinkable, with soft tannin and ripe fruit, and brambly acidity.

A Bordeaux blend from western Slovenia that is aged in cherry wood barrels. Inky fruit matched by mineral freshness.

Pacina, Toscana 2017
£50.00

Producer: Pacina
Region: Toscana, Italy
Grapes: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo & Ciliegiolo
Style: Red
Alc.: 15%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: The fruit macerates for 6 weeks and 6 months after in concrete tanks, before the wine is aged for 2 years in old barrels. The 2017 vintage has all the hallmarks of this now classic cuvée from Pacina – warming spice and tobacco balanced by a gentle line of acidity which keeps you going back for more.

Wonderful Sangiovese from the hills outside Siena. Rich, opulent, but still thoroughly drinkable.

Ostal Levant, Un Cœur Simple 2021
£32.00

Producer: Ostal Levant
Region: Lot, France
Grapes: Côt (Malbec)
Style: Red
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Côt from their oldest parcel above Puy l’Eveque. Twelve days of maceration make this a more supple wine with softer tannins whilst retaining the depth and structure one associates with Côt. All balanced by lip smacking acidity and refreshing minerality.

Malbec from its spiritual home on the banks of the Lot. Richness balanced by irony minerality.

Chateau Lestignac, Tempête 2022
£40.00

Producer: Château Lestignac
Region: Perigord, France
Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc
Style: Red
Alc.: 13%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Utterly enchanting. The grapes are macerated in whole bunches, which preserves some lighter fruit and floral notes; and then aged in a mix of old barrels and stoneware jars. The warmth and density are beautifully balanced by fruit forward aromatics.

Utterly enchanting. The warmth and density are beautifully balanced by fruit forward aromatics.

Domaine des Trouillères, Carambolage 2023/24
£34.00

Producer: Domaine des Trouillères
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Gamay, Pinot Noir (from 2023), Chardonnay (from 2024)
Style: Red
Alc.: 12.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: This blends fruit from all of Camille and Mikaël’s plots. The chardonnay comes from 2024 and is direct pressed, then aged in barrels for 12 months; gamay and pinot noir from 2023 are macerated in whole clusters, before it is pressed and aged for 6 months in stoneware jars. This drinks like a medium red with smooth tannins and berry-like fruit. The addition of chardonnay lends some softness and richness, finishing with that distinctive Auvergnat smokiness.

Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Gamay d’Auvergne. Plush and plump fruit.

Jean Ginglinger, Sandstein Pinot Noir 2023
£41.00

Producer: Jean Ginglinger
Region: Alsace, France
Grapes: Pinot noir
Style: Red
Alc: 15%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A phenomenal pinot from the family’s Sandstein Grand Cru plot. The fruit is macerated for 2 weeks with regular pigeage, then pressed and aged in foudres. Elegant tannin, licorice and inky fruit, leading to a dense mineral finish. A wine of incredible structure.

Lean and spiced Alsatian Pinot. A punch of dense hedgerow fruit.

Calvez Bobinet, Les Landes 2020
£45.00

Producer:Calvez Bobinet
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: Cabernet Franc
Style: Red
Alc.: 12%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Some of Seb and Emeline’s older vines (about 50 years old) planted over flint and red clay. The grapes are destemmed, macerated for 25 days on the skins, then aged for 36 months in old barrels. The long ageing here has brought warmth and softness to the green tannins and spice of Cab franc. The spice here is comforting and rounds the palate off nicely.

Some green spice, but richness from the barrels to balance it out.

Light and lithe, with lovely spice and delicate fruit.

Karl and Eva Schnabel, Pinot Noir Hoch 2021
£65.00

Producer: Karl & Eva Schnabel
Region: Südsteiermark, Austria

Alc: 12.5%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Destemmed fruit from the Hochegg vineyard – macerated until the end of fermentation, so around 2 weeks, then aged in old oak barrels with occasional battonage for 1 year. Compared with the Blaufränkisch from Hochegg this still has some irony minerality but more ripe fruit from the Pinot here.

Wow. Iron-y and bloody minerality, with rounded fruit.

one more bottle…

Lightly macerated Riesling from Alsace, aged in old barrels. This is warming and comforting.

This is special. Old vines of Gamay d’Auvergne but treated with a light touch.

Producer: Mas Coutelou
Region: Languedoc, France
Grapes: Cinsault, Grenache Noir, Syrah
Style: Red
Alc.: 13%
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: MAGNUM A 2-week maceration of roughly equal parts of cinsault, grenache and syrah, aged in concrete tanks. Plummy fruit, balanced acidity and anise and clove-like spiced finish. This drinks well at room temperature but can be chilled down to lift up its acidity. Lovely to have with a platter of grilled meats!

Deliciously good fun!

Aromatic and spiced. A lovely wine to bring to a party.

Altura Vigneto, Ansonaco 2021 MAG
£100.00

Producer: Altura Vigneto
Region: Toscana, Italy
Grapes: Ansonaco
Style: Orange
Alc.: 14%
Size: 150cl bottle
Note: MAGNUM One of the biggest orange wines we have, partly due to the thick skinned grapes and the absence of rain. The vines grow close to the sea, so there is always an element of salt and ozone to this wine. Full of Seville orange, bitter almond, and acacia…this can be decanted and do not get it too cold!

Deep, spiced, and complex – an incredible orange wine from the Island of Giglio.

Domaine Carterole, Cirera 2021 MAGNUM
£65.00

Producer: Domaine Carterole
Region: Roussillon, France
Grapes: 80% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Carignan
Style: Red
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: MAGNUM Ageing in amphora gives this some lovely texture and bite, with some lovely lifted fruit on the palate.

Sunny and warm, with some smooth tannin.

Les Vignes de Babass, Brutal Agnes 2023 MAGNUM
£50.00

Producer: Les Vignes de Babass
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: 55% Grolleau, 45% Gamay
Style: Red
Alc.: 10%
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: MAGNUM A new cuvée from Babass and his partner Agnes. This is from two plots, both planted in the late 1950s. This is everything we love about Anjou reds: light, almost thin texture, with fine powdery tannins, and lots of green spice.

Immensely drinkable, this is from Babass and Agnes’ old vines – light, lifted with crunchy fruit.

Jean-Yves Péron, i Vicini Barbera 2023 MAGNUM
£74.00

Producer: Jean-Yves Peron
Region: Haute-Savoie, France
Grapes: Jacquère
Style: White / Orange
Alc.: 13.5%
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: Dark and plummy with spice, brine and furry tannin. This is smooth and drinkable, and will appeal to drinkers that have a more classical palate. Aged in large barrels before bottling. The large format is perfect for those Sunday lunches with the extended family or a group of friends!

Delightful Jacquere from JYP. Great with food and one to push the boat out a bit.

Jean-Marc Dreyer, Elios 2022 MAGNUM
£85.00

Producer:Jean-Marc Dreyer
Region: Alsace, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Style: Red
Alc: 12.5%
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: MAGNUM Macerated for 10 days outside the cellar, then aged in smaller demi-muids (the ageing is longer than the 75cl bottles). Light, bright and smokey with a silky finish. This has a touch more weight than previous vintages, adding to its smoothness, but it still has Jean-Marc’s characteristic zing.

Quite classic Alsatian Pinot, but with some zippy freshness and aromatic spice.

Michel Guignier, Granite 2020 MAG
£65.00

Producer: Michel Guignier
Region: Beaujolais, France
Grapes: Gamay
Style: Red
Alc.: 13.5%
Size: 150cl bottle
Notes: MAGNUM From the vines planted in Vauxrenard, around Michel’s home. As the name suggests it is distinctly mineral and light, and the warmer vintage has brought heaps of quaffable fruit.

Lovely minerality, with rich fruit and gentle acidity… one to please an aficionado or the masses!

PARTY WINES!

Marie et Vincent Tricot, Bulleversante 2024
£38.00

Producer: Marie & Vincent Tricot
Region: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Chardonnay, Muscat d’Ottonel
Style: White Sparkling
Alc.: 11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A return of a lovely pet nat from the Tricots! Peachy fruit, elegant bubbles, and a tiny touch of sugar makes this extremely quaffable. Chardonnay and muscat are direct pressed.

Aromatic, gentle zip, rounded finish!

Glow Glow, Fizzy 2024
£27.00

Producer: Glow Glow
Region: Nahe, Germany
Grapes: Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Muskateller, Riesling, and Chardonnay
Style: White, Sparking
Alc.: 11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: The latest iteration of Pauline and Carl’s Fizzy – and it feels and tastes even more complex and grown up! Some of the fruit is pressed directly, some macerated, then aged on the lees before disgorgement in March 2025. A delicious medley of fleshy fruit, tonic bitters, toasty notes and a quenching salinity.

Mineral, crisp, with notes of stone fruit.

Lucy M., Le Oranj Sauvi Pétillant 2022
£35.00

Producer: Anton van Klopper, Lucy M.
Region: Adelaide Hills, Australia
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Style: Orange, Sparkling
Alc.: 11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: From a plot in Totness planted on black sandy soil. Macerated for 14 days on the skins and fermented in ceramic eggs, this has wonderful aromatic fruit and some citric tannins.

Apricot-like notes and incredibly refreshing.

Vin de LaGamba, Frauen Power Fusion 2024
£23.00

Producer: Vin de Lagamba
Region: Rheinhessen, Germany
Grapes: Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling
Style: Light Red/Pink, Sparkling
Size: 75cl bottle
Alc.: 10.5%
Notes: Alanna and Martin lost about half their harvest in 2024 to frost, so instead of a red and a pink Frauen Power they made a blend of the two: Fusion! A dark pink or a light red, this is fresh and savoury, with an aromatic almost herbal nose and delicate bubbles.

Berry fruit and gentle bubbles – a party starter!

Calvez Bobinet, Le Ciel est Bleu 2023
£26.00

Producer: Calvez Bobinet
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: Chenin, Grolleau Noir & Gris
Style: Pink Sparkling
Alc: 10%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: Summertime is a new negociant project created by Seb and Émeline. This new vintage feels lighter than the previous – hints of gentle blackcurrant-like fruit notes, gentle acidity, and subtle spice. Goes down easily, and quickly!

Elegant, grassy, with a creamy edge.

Lammidia, Paparazza 2023
£26.00

Producer: Lammidia
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Grapes: 50% Trebbiano, 30% Pecorino, 20% Traminer
Style: Sparkling, White
Alc: 11%
Size: 75cl bottle
Notes: A light maceration of Trebbianco and Pecorino, re-fermented with Traminer juice. This is heady, with a hoppy and resinous nose, and a tropical palate. The bubbles are dense and moussey. Lovely.

Isotonic and gently perfumed… brings you back to life!
