Producer: Léo Dirringer
Region: Alsace, France
Grapes: Riesling, Pinot Gris
Style: White
Size: 75cl bottle
Alc: 13%
Notes: From a grand cru plot on steep south-facing slopes of granite. Pressed and fermented together, the wine is then aged in Alsatian foudres. Following on from the last iteration we had, a blend of 2021 and 2022, this has some 2023 as well, forming what will now be known as the Frankstein Solera. The pinot gris brings some darker fruit and a bloody edge to balance the minerality and opulence of the riesling. The solera ageing brings a nutty edge, and leans into the salty edge that this has.
