Following on from the last iteration we had, a blend of 2021 and 2022, this has some 2023 as well, forming what will now be known as the Frankstein Solera. The pinot gris brings some darker fruit and a bloody edge to balance the minerality and opulence of the riesling. The solera ageing brings a nutty edge, and leans into the salty edge that this has.

Notes: MAGNUM This is a blend of some of the Origin wines and some of the un-macerated cuvées, taking the wine from each cuvée that won’t fit into the designated barrels, and ageing in its own demi-muid for a year. Notes: This is from a plot in the Hérault that Mattia and Chiara bought a few years ago to help supplement their grape production. All the grapes are macerated together for a month with daily (sometimes twice daily) pigeages. This is a big, punchy orange wine, with lovely aromatics, dense tannins, and opens up wonderfully. Mattia summed it up very well: "Un vin très complexe, pas à boire tous les jours mais avec un caractère unique, réglisse et pêche confite enrobé de tanins à boire avec une côte de cochon ou avec des fromages ou bien tout seul après un grand repas devant la cheminée."

Notes: A welcome return of this exceptional Tuscan rosato – rich, bold, bloody, but also bursting with ripe fruit and a refreshing backbone of acidity. Juice from sangiovese is ‘bled’ from a tank after 8 hours, before fermentation in concrete tanks. The base wine is then combined with the skins of Trebbiano and Malvasia from the following year and fermented together. This rosato is only made in certain years!
